XTO cancels plan for NM gas-processing plant – 9/10/20

XTO Energy has decided to cancel plans for a natural gas processing facility in the Permian Basin in southeast New Mexico.

Reports indicate that the company has withdrawn its application for a permit to build and operate the facility in Eddy County, citing future infrastructure needs in the area of the Delaware Basin.

The application by the ExxonMobil subsidiary was for the Husky Gas Plant and the Central Delivery Point about 14 miles northeast of Loving, New Mexico.

The facilities would have had the capacity to process about 200,000 barrels per day of oil stabilization, plus natural gas liquids.

The facilities were projected to produce about 2.7 million tons per year of greenhouse gases.
